Frank and Audrey Scott papers, 1901-1996.

Papers document the career of Frank Scott and wife Audrey Roseland Scott. The correspondence is personal in nature for both Frank and Audrey. The family series documents Frank's parents, Frank and Alice (Wilson) Scott along with genealogical material on the Scott and Wilson families. There is also family history material on Audrey's lines, Nellermoe (her first husband) and Remme. The print material includes newspaper clippings, pamphlets, and programs that highlight the Frank and Audrey's careers. Includes is "Marriage Manual" issued by Olivet Lutheran Church in Fargo (1940s). There is an extensive collection of Scott's arrangements & compositions which form the bulk of the collection, including two Fargo productions, "Show Goes the Nation" and "West is the Land." The business series is quite extensive documenting his royalties, contracts, finances, and engagements. The scrapbooks document the career of Audrey from 1930 to the 1940s when she performed in Fargo and at WDAY Radio.

Frank Scott was born in Fargo in 1921. After playing in an orchestra in Ohio he began a 12-year career as music director and pianist for WDAY Radio in Fargo. In 1956 the family relocated to California and he became an arranger and accompanist on the Lawrence Welk Show. His wife Jeanette died in 1979. He remained active in music and arranging and at the time of his death in 1995 he lived at Palm Desert, California and had his own band. In 1993 he married Audrey (Remme) Roseland, originally from F...
